The Fountain Breath

The Fountain Breath exercise, also sometimes known as the Alchemical Circulation, is designed to raise energy levels, refreshing and invigorating the mind and body, to purify the mind, body and soul, to increase the levels of the spirit indwelling within the body and to lead the practitioner to a deeper understanding of the tree of life. It is a simple exercise which takes just 10-30 minutes to perform but which can have dramatic effects when practiced regularly.

For the best results with this exercise begin with The Qabalistic Cross and The Middle Pillar exercises.

Concentrate your awareness on the sphere of Kether above your head, slightly penetrating the crown, and breath in deeply. Now, as you exhale to the count of 4, visualise bright white light cascading down the left hand side of your body and collecting in Malkuth at your feet. Hold your awareness at Malkuth for a count of 2 before visualising the light surging up the right hand side of you body and returning to Kether as you inhale to the count of four. Hold your attention at Kether then for another count of 2. This should be repeated at least 7 times, but the more repetitions the more pronounced its effect will be.
This light passes right through your body as well as around it, creating an egg shape around you. it is the light of life and of pure awareness, pure energy and potential. It infuses your body and mind alike as you begin to 'resonate' with its frequency.

Having some experience of the Body Awareness Exercise(s) helps here. Try to be aware of the light flowing over the surface of your body, heightening your awareness, as well as the light flowing through your body, strengthning your awareness within your body.
In the next stage you should keep going with the 4-2-4 count of breathing but this time visualise the light running down the front of the body and returning up the back, again this should be done for a minimum of 7 repetitions.
In the final stage imagine the light cascading down through and around the whole body as you exhale, and the as you inhale visualise it as rising in a column through the centre of the body (corresponding to the middle pillar) and returning to Kether through the crown of the head. In this way the light forms a fountain within your body and aura.
